In a cardiac emergency, knowing CPR can make a lifesaving difference.
Thanks to new training equipment purchased by Minquas EMS with support from Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving, more community members will have the opportunity to learn those critical skills.
Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving recently awarded $2,500 to Minquas EMS to strengthen its CPR training program and help provide participants with more realistic, hands-on instruction.

Putting New CPR Equipment to Work
Minquas EMS wasted no time putting the new equipment to use.
The organization recently held its first CPR class with the new training manikins at Marsh Creek State Park, where 11 participants received hands-on CPR instruction.
The new equipment allows instructors to teach adult, pediatric and bariatric CPR, giving participants experience with a wider range of situations they could encounter during a real cardiac emergency.
Creating More Realistic, Inclusive Training
For Minquas EMS, having equipment that represents different patients was an important part of improving its training program.
“The new manikins allowed our instructors to provide a much more realistic and inclusive training experience and better prepare participants for the variety of patients they may encounter during a cardiac emergency,” the organization shared.

One Class Is Just the Beginning
The first 11 participants represent only the beginning of the equipment’s impact.
Minquas EMS plans to continue using the manikins for community CPR programs and internal training, allowing the same equipment to help prepare more people in the months and years ahead.
“This is exactly what we hoped to accomplish with the grant, and this first class is only the beginning,” the organization shared.
That long-term impact is what makes investments in organizations like Minquas EMS so meaningful. One grant can provide resources that continue educating people, strengthening emergency preparedness and serving the community well beyond a single event.

Supporting Those Who Serve Pennsylvania Communities
Through its charitable giving program, Pennsylvania Skill supports first responders, veterans groups, nonprofits and other organizations working to strengthen communities across the Commonwealth.
For Minquas EMS, the $2,500 award is helping put lifesaving education directly into the hands of community members.
Eleven people have already trained with the new equipment. With more classes ahead, that number will continue to grow.
Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving is proud to support Minquas EMS and its work to help more people feel prepared to act when every second matters.
