For a family facing hunger, everyday groceries can make a big difference.
That is why Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving is proud to support Helping Harvest and its mission to provide nutritious food to people facing hunger in Berks and Schuylkill counties.
Our support recently helped fund a Helping Harvest Mobile Market in Pottsville, bringing fresh and nutritious food directly to people in the community.
Bringing Food Closer to Home
Helping Harvest has been fighting hunger in Berks and Schuylkill counties for more than 40 years.
Today, the organization works with more than 350 charitable food programs. It also operates programs designed to reach children, seniors, families, and others who need extra support.
One of those programs is its Mobile Market.
Instead of asking people to travel to a traditional food pantry, Mobile Markets bring food directly into local communities. Families can receive produce, dairy products, meats, and other nutritious foods closer to home.
In 2025 alone, Helping Harvest’s Mobile Market program distributed more than 2.3 million pounds of food through 290 distributions.
Pottsville is one of the communities served by the program.

How Skill Games Help Create Community Impact
Pennsylvania Skill games are about more than entertainment.
For local businesses and organizations, skill games can provide an additional source of revenue. That extra income can help support jobs, cover expenses and create more opportunities to give back locally.
Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving builds on that community impact by supporting organizations doing important work across the Commonwealth.
Helping Harvest is one of them.
In 2025, the organization distributed more than 11.1 million pounds of food through its network and programs. More than half of that food was fresh or frozen.
Its work also goes far beyond Mobile Markets.
Helping Harvest provides food to pantries, soup kitchens and shelters. Its programs help children take food home for the weekend and provide monthly food boxes to thousands of seniors.
That means support can reach people at many different stages of life.
More Than a Meal
Hunger can affect anyone.
Sometimes a family needs a little help getting through a difficult month. A senior may be living on a limited income. A parent may be trying to stretch a grocery budget while keeping healthy food on the table.
Helping Harvest meets people where they are.
We are proud to help the organization continue that work in Schuylkill County.
Because when revenue generated in Pennsylvania helps create opportunities to support Pennsylvania communities, the impact can travel much further than the game itself.
