When an emergency call comes in, volunteer firefighters need to be ready to respond.

That starts with having the right equipment.

Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving recently donated $2,500 to Upper Yoder Volunteer Fire Company to support the department and the volunteers who serve their community.

The fire company put the support to work by adding new voice pagers for its first responders.

Pagers are an important part of a volunteer fire department’s emergency response system. They help alert firefighters when a call comes in and provide information they need to respond.

For volunteer firefighters, that communication matters.

These men and women may be at home, at work, or spending time with their families when an emergency happens. When the alert comes through, they step away from their daily lives and answer the call.

Reliable equipment helps make that response possible.

Supporting Those Who Answer the Call

Pennsylvania’s volunteer fire companies play an important role in keeping communities safe.

Their members respond to fires, crashes, medical emergencies, and other calls for help. They also spend countless hours training so they are prepared when an emergency happens.

Many departments rely on community support to help purchase and update the equipment their volunteers use.

That is why Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving is proud to support Upper Yoder Volunteer Fire Company with this $2,500 donation.

The department’s fire chief recently accepted the donation on behalf of the company.

The support is another example of how charitable giving can make a difference at the local level. It helps provide resources to the people who are there when their neighbors need them most.

Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving supports first responders, veterans groups, nonprofits, and other community organizations across the Commonwealth.

Each donation serves a different need. However, they all share one goal: helping strengthen Pennsylvania communities.

We thank the volunteers of Upper Yoder Volunteer Fire Company for their service and dedication.

When the call comes, they are ready to respond. Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving is honored to help support the equipment that keeps them connected and ready to serve.
