A Healthy Breakfast Can Make a Big Difference

For many families, a box of cereal is a simple part of the weekly grocery list. But for neighbors who rely on a food pantry, it can be one less expense to worry about and one more meal they know they’ll have.

At Jersey Shore Care and Share in Lycoming County, volunteers work hard to make sure every household that visits the food pantry receives a box of cereal each month. It’s a small item that can make a meaningful impact for children, adults, and especially seniors.

The challenge is that cereal isn’t always available. When it is, many of the donated options are high in sugar and don’t provide the healthier choice the pantry hopes to offer.

That’s where Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving was proud to help.

Thanks to this donation, Jersey Shore Care and Share purchased more than 900 boxes of Cheerios to distribute throughout the community. The purchase helps ensure that hundreds of local residents, many of them senior citizens, have access to a nutritious breakfast they can enjoy at home.

Healthy food should be accessible to everyone, and organizations like Jersey Shore Care and Share make that possible every day through the dedication of their volunteers and supporters. Their commitment goes far beyond providing meals. They offer comfort, dignity, and peace of mind to neighbors facing difficult times.

At Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving, we believe strong communities are built when local organizations have the resources they need to care for the people around them. Supporting food pantries is one of the many ways we can help make a lasting difference across Pennsylvania.

We’re grateful for the work Jersey Shore Care and Share does every day, and we’re honored to play a small part in helping them continue their mission. Together, we can help ensure more families and seniors start their mornings with a healthy meal and the support of a community that cares.
